Obituary

Esther Jean Houdeshell, "Mrs. Jean" of Tipp City passed away Tuesday morning at the Randall Residence in Tipp City, Ohio. She was 90 years old. Born September 14, 1924 in Clayton, OH to Frances (Henkins) and Hervey Olinger and was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Pauline Williams and Miriam Olinger and her loving husband of 65 years Eugene Houdeshell. She is survived by her daughters; Claudia and her husband Philip Koerner of New Hampshire and Cindy Watson of Tipp City. Also surviving are granddaughters Katy Watson and her husband Jay Cullis of Covington, OH as well as Molly Watson and Michael Suber of Tipp City. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Opal Jean Cullis.

Jean worked as the librarian at Nevin Coppock Elementary School for 25 years. Throughout her lifetime she was very active in her church and community. Jean was a member of the Alpha Class at Tipp City United Methodist Church, sang in their choir and volunteered much of her time over the years. She was also a Charter Member of Tipp City's Year-Round Garden Club. Jean loved her family and friends. Her kindness and sharp sense of humor will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St, Tipp City, OH. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Contributions may be made in memory of Jean to the Tipp City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371.
