Gildow, Elsie Lou age 96 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at StoryPoint, Tipp City. She was born July 23, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to William and Bertha {Edwards} Owens. Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles “Joe” Gildow, daughter Jaqueline Biddle and her siblings Emery, Margarette, Viola, Elmer, Ernie, William, Edith, Mary, Deloris and Emeretta. She is survived by her children Mark (Melody) Gildow of Tipp City, Jill (Jerry) Boze of Tipp City and son in law David (Barbara) Biddle, grandchildren Justin (Amanda) Boze, Nathan (Cristin) Gildow, Kurtis (Chelsea) Gildow, Amy (Ted) Knecht, Jody (David) Watkins and Brian (Tracey) Biddle. Also surviving are great grandchildren Paige, Joseph, Evan, Jack, Charlotte, Nolan, Reed, Levi, Ellie, Jacob, Andrew, Stephen, Gracie, Faith, Jessica, Molly and Owen and great great grandchildren Lynlee, Reese, Calvin, Liara, Dominick, Deklan, Madelyn, Micah, Ezra and one on the way.

Elsie was a longtime member of First Grace Church in Vandalia. She found great joy in farming and especially loved her cows and chickens. She enjoyed canning and cherished the time she spent talking with her egg customers, many of whom became dear friends. Elsie was also a wonderful baker and was especially proud of her famous German chocolate cake, which earned her several awards at the Miami County Fair. She loved watching the children participate in 4-H and took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren and babysitting the children of Tipp. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at StoryPoint of Tipp City for their excellent care, compassion, and assistance.

A Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371 with graveside service to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. The family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Elsie’s honor to please consider, Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373. Following the graveside service the family invites everyone to First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, OH 45377 for a luncheon celebrating Elsie’s life well lived.
