Hughes, Elijah Joshua James age 24 of Bradford, Ohio passed away Monday, October 6, 2025. He was born September 1, 2001 in Richmond, Kentucky to JoAnna {Durham} Henry. Elijah is survived by his mother, father Jonathan Henry, his greatest joy, daughter, Layla Hughes and siblings Faith Henry and Janya Shavers. Also surviving are grandparents Eunice and Paul Jenkins, and Bill and Carol Henry and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elijah attended Colerain High School in Cincinnati. He had a passion for writing music and loved sports, especially football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. Known for his playful spirit and great sense of humor, Elijah was a true goofball who brought laughter to those around him. Above all, he deeply loved his family — especially his cherished daughter, who held a special place in his heart. Elijah held immense pride in being Layla's father. She was the center of his world, and he loved her more than words could express. Elijah's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.

A visitation will be held 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM Monday, October 13, 2025 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Pastor Steve Perrine officiating. Burial to follow at Miami Memorial Garden, Covington, Ohio.
