Shearer, Elaine L. 87 of Tipp City passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at Springmeade Health Center, Tipp City. Born October 28, 1925 in Casey, Iowa to Christopher and Esther {Knauer} Ludwig. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold R. Shearer in 1999, daughter Karen Shearer in 1982 and one sister, Marjorie Root. She is survived by her children; Gary and his wife Suzanne Shearer, Murfreesboro, TN, Scott and his wife Judy Shearer, Hilliard, OH and Kim Adkins, Tipp City, OH, brothers, Kenny (Marilyn) Ludwig, Don (Maxine) Ludwig and Larry (Betty) Ludwig all of Iowa. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Stephanie (Lenny) Orzech, Jamie (Matt) McKinley, Adrianne and Aaron Shearer, Kelli Wolters and Katie Adkins along with 5 great grandchildren. Elaine worked as a cook at Nevin Coppock Elementary School and was retired from Chmiel's Market where she worked in customer service in the deli and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, all in Tipp City. Elaine was a strong woman with a quick wit and great sense of humor who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City, burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Donations may be made in memory of Elaine to Hospice of Dayton.
