Eileen F. Rousseau (Reynolds) age 91 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born on July 29, 1932 to Ottis and Clara Reynolds in Dayton, Ohio. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard "Hoot" Rousseau and siblings; William Reynolds, Marguerite Reynolds, Dorothy Kingrey, Louetta Kohr and Robert Reynolds. She is survived by her five children; Debbie Phillips, Chicago, Illinois, Jane (Randy) Thompson Troy, Ohio, Kathryn Rousseau, Kettering, Ohio, Amy (Robert) Go, Bellbrook, Ohio, Nicholas (Melanie and Brennan) Rousseau, Kettering, Ohio. Also, surviving are her grandchildren: Derek Thompson, Natalie (Bryce) Walters, Ashley (Greg) Tissot and Joshua (Sarah) Phillips, seven great-grandchildren; Sloan, Kellen, Lane, Grant, Cole, Sterling and Otis and special family friends Pete, Stephanie, Nate, Nico and Claire Ferra.
Eileen was a Eucharistic minister and lector for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a member since 1935. She was a living example of a devout Catholic. She was also a member of the Dayton Rose Society in Dayton and a volunteer at the Victoria Theatre. Eileen had a love for reading. She was a skilled seamstress and crocheted baby blankets for Brigid's Path and Dayton Children's Hospital. Eileen, as an eighty year old, loved her time volunteering at Broadway Elementary helping children.
For many years, Eileen worked as a payroll/billing clerk for Ames Department Store as well as an office manager for two doctors' offices. Eileen was a wonderful cook and baker. Her homemade cookies were a favorite for many, especially her chocolate chips. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Father Robert Hale Celebrant. Burial to follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Tipp City.
