It is with a heavy heart that we announce Douglas R. McDermott age 69 of Tipp City OH past away at his home this weekend.  He was born in Dayton, OH to the late Robert and Mildred {Schweiterman} McDermott. He is survived by his sister Sharyn Skelton, Charleston, SC, his 3 children Chad McDermott, Matthew and his wife Shelly McDermott, Shellie and her husband Joe Blackett and his grandson Ethan McDermott all of Cincinnati, OH

Doug graduated Chaminade High School 1967. He joined the air national guard after high school and served until 1974. From there he began a career with State Farm Insurance where he had been until this day. He never forgot a name or face of any customer he ever had. Doug was a member of the Tipp City Rotary Club.

He was an amazing father and always took time to stay in touch with friends over the years. He was a scratch golfer, amazing poker player, and a jack of all trades when it came to home improvement. His friends and family always will say how much of a positive person he was in all of their lives.

Funeral service 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ginghamsburg Church (Main Campus) 6759 S. County Rd. 25A, Tipp City, OH 45371. Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 also at the church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, OH 45371.
