Dorothy E. Gabel

Gabel, Dorothy E. “Dottie” age 97 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2026 at StoryPoint Tipp City. She was born June 26, 1929 in Sidney, Ohio. Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters and grandson Daniel Gabel. She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years Dr. William (Bill) M. Gabel, children Thomas (Christine) Gabel of West Milton and Robert (Gaye) Gabel of Troy, Ohio. Dottie is also survived by grandchildren Joshua (Megan) Gabel, Nicholas Gabel and step granddaughter Diane (Chad) Minkner.

Dottie began her career with Ohio Bell in Dayton, where she oversaw telephone operators in the late 1940’s early 1950’s. She married Bill on February 22, 1952, and together they made their home in Tipp City beginning in 1956. Dottie later assisted BIll in his optometry office, where she enjoyed helping patients and being part of the practice.

Dottie had many interests and was an avid golfer. She was also a member of the Tipp City Garden Club and found joy in knitting and sewing. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in her community and the activities she loved. Dottie will be remembered for the many ways she shared her time, talents, and kindness with those around her.

A Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Online condolences may be expressed at www.fringsandbayliff.com.
