Sowers, Doris L. (Allen) age 79 of West Milton, Ohio died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 11, 1936 in Dayton, to Kernan Dale and Hazel W. (Booher) Allen Bir. Preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Edward Bir, her husband of 50 years Robert "Bob" Sowers, and a brother David Allen. Doris was the first woman elected as a Union Township Trustee. She attended Northridge High School and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Milton. Surviving are her children Joyce Lynn (Bill) Morris, Ludlow Falls; Robert "Bob" D. (Carolyn) Sowers, West Milton; Jeffery "Jeff" Sowers (Stacey), West Milton; and Loretta "Lori" Lee (Larry) Smith, West Milton. Grandchildren Billy and Paul Morris; Allison, Alicia and Alex Sowers; Christina (Kyle) Wills; and Nicholas, Joey, Jesse and David Smith also 3 great grandchildren. Half brother and sisters Charlie, Karen and Sharon. Also, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and special friends. Doris was a serious collector of Campbell's soup memorabilia. Her collection was so extensive that it was hard to find an item she didn't have already. She loved NASCAR and was a huge fan of Kevin Harvick. She loved going to Kilkare and Eldora speedways. Doris spend many hours enjoying FACEBOOK and made many good friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2105 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1209 S. Miami St. West Milton, Ohio 45383. Reverend John Johansen officiating with burial in Unity Cemetery, West Milton. Visitation 11:00 am to 2:00 pm all at the church. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Doris to Hospice of Dayton or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
