Jones, Doris R. 82, Tipp City, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2016 at SpringMeade Health Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 18, 1933 in Piqua, OH to Carl and Luella (Stangle) Kipp. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband Zay Jones on August 4, 2015. Doris is survived by her daughters Annette (Paul) Hoverman, Van Wert, OH, and Diana (Peter) Chatigny, Hudson, OH; sisters Norma (James "Mac") McElroy, Piqua, OH and Dorothy Cooper, Kettering, OH; grandchildren Kristen (Aaron) Gillespie, Tim (Jordon) Hoverman, Jacob Hoverman, Joseph Elicson, Catherine Elicson, Christopher (Chelsea) Chatigny, and Aaron (Chelsea) Chatigny, and 2 great grandchildren Aria and Athena Chatigny. Doris was a faithful member of Tipp City United Methodist Church singing in the choir for 42 years, actively involved in the United Methodist Women's organization and the Alpha Sunday School Class. She volunteered at the Clothesline in Tipp City, serving in this ministry alongside many of her friends. She also worked at the Miami County voting polls for over 30 years. She was lovingly devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City with Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371 and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Doris to Hospice of Miami County or the United Methodist Memorial Fund.
