Gentry, Doris Elaine 79 of Tipp City, OH passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at SpringMeade Health Center. Born March 13, 1938 in Pike County, Kentucky to Teddy and Marie {Wright} Greer. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Francis Marion "FM" Greer, sister, Phyllis Haley, and brothers Randy Greer and Ray Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Vernon Gentry, daughters; Denise (James) Hooper, Dana (Ryan) Murphy all of Tipp City and son, Darren (Christine) Gentry, Bangkok, Thailand. Also surviving are, sister, Jennifer (Steven) Carr, Bradenton, FL along with 10 grandchildren; Catie (Nathan) Croy, Rachel (Zachary) Spoon, Andy Hooper, Joshua Morter, Meghan (Ryan) Clint, Leah Murphy, Micah (Jasmine) Gentry, Moriah, Michaela and Makenna Gentry and 6 great grandchildren. Doris was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Tipp City and had worked as an accounting clerk for S. A. I. C. She loved walking with her daughters, reading, watching birds, taking pictures of nature and spending time in her flower garden. Cooking and cutting hair for her family and friends are ways that she served and connected with those she loved. Her hospitality, laughter, acceptance and kindness are reasons that people loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Church of the Nazarene, 1221 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH; Pastor Brad Warkentine officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10th at the Church of the Nazarene.
