Taylor, Darlene M. age 95 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Springfield Masonic Community. Darlene was born in Bethel Township on January 17, 1930 to the late John P. and Ethel N. {Hafner} Durst. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband William E. Taylor, two step-brothers, a step-sister, and a beloved grandson, Jeffrey Michael Hess. Darlene is survived by two daughters; Wanda Hess of New Carlisle, and Donna (Dave) Falknor of Troy, Ohio, two grandchildren; Julia (Peter) Hess-Kenton, and Daniel (Beth) Falknor. Also surviving are two great grandchildren; twins Troy and Mars Gibson.
Darlene graduated from Tipp Elizabeth High School in 1948. She worked as a Secretary for A. O. Smith, Tipp City Cafeteria Worker, the Tipp City Family Physicians, and a Tipp City Reporter for the Troy Daily News. She was a Tippecanoe 307 Easter Star member for over 65 years as well as the Rebekahs Lodge. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipp City, the President of the Valley Arts and Crafts Club, participated with the American Business Women of Miami County, and on the Tipp City Mum Festival Committee. She was the Chairman of the dinner committee serving dinner to the Rotary Club, a member of the Tipp City Senior Citizens, and Daughters of the American Revolution. Darlene was an exceptional seamstress. She loved tending to her flower garden and was a very talented self-taught musician, playing several instruments including the organ, violin, and even the accordion. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Springfield Masonic Community Pathways for their excellent care given to their Mother.
A private family burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME , Tipp City. Online condolences may be expressed at www.fringsandbayliff.com.
