Gabel, Daniel Thomas age 22 of Tipp City, Ohio died Tuesday December 8th at his residence as a result of a sudden illness. Born December 15, 1986 to Thomas E. and Jo (Turben) Gabel. Daniel was a 2005 graduate of Tippecanoe High School where he lettered on the varsity soccer team. He worked as a farrier with his dad at Gabel Farrier Service in Tipp City. A Fall 2009 graduate of Ohio University where he majored in English, he was planning to continue his studies to complete his Master degree. He assisted in the Ohio University English Department and played indoor soccer at OU. A member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City. Daniel is survived by his mother Jo Gabel, of Tipp City; father and stepmother Thomas E. and Christine Gabel, Tipp City, brother David L. Gabel, Portland, OR; and sister Diane Belding (Chad Minkner) Tipp City; grandparents William and Dottie Gabel, Tipp City and Pat and Charlie Cowan, Tipp City. Daniel was a special young man with outstanding and wonderful qualities, he was spontaneous and adventurous, loved words and poetry. His sense of humor was an absolute joy. He was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services 11:00 am Monday December 14, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church, corner of Third and Main Streets, Tipp City. Pastor Steve Gellatly officiating with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation 4 - 8 pm Sunday at the church. Because of Daniel's love of books contributions may be made to the Tipp City Library in Daniel's memory.
