IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dana Maria
Murphy
December 19, 1961 – February 11, 2026
Dana Maria (Gentry) Murphy passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 11, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her Husband, Ryan Murphy, her son Joshua Morter, her daughters Meghan Clint, (Ryan Clint), and Leah Fawley, (Caleb Fawley), and her grandchildren Layla Morter, Aiden Morter, Kamryn Clint, and Madisyn Clint. She is also survived by her siblings Denise Hooper and Darren Gentry and preceded to heaven by her mother and father Doris and Vernon Gentry.
Dana is remembered as a kind, loving, gentle, soul by all who knew her. In her Church (One Hope Church of the Nazarene), Dana was the humble, behind-the-scenes servant who worked in and organized the church nursery for many years, made snacks for Vacation Bible School, worked in the kitchen during church events, hosted a weekly small group in her home, and served as the payroll administrator for the pre-school for over 10 years. Dana was recently awarded the Distinguished Service award by the Church of the Nazarene to commemorate her lifetime of service to her church family.
Dana was the center of her immediate family, planning annual camping trips, holiday celebrations, outings and regular gatherings for her kids and grandkids. Her family loved her and each other because she showed them how to love and made them a priority, even as she served her church and worked full-time. That love was returned by her 3 children and her 4 grandchildren who called her Nana. She was a loving wife to Ryan, who would say that she was the center of his life, having made him the man he was and introducing him to Jesus as his savior. To her sister, she was her best friend, and to her brother, she was an example and encourager. To her friends, Dana will be remembered as a patient, humble, and supportive friend who would be there whenever there was a need. She was a constant source of joy, showing the love of Jesus through her daily life. Dana will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at One Hope Church of the Nazarene, 1221 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
