Obituary

Cynthia Lynn (Hughes) Petrofes, 50, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2013, with her much beloved family by her side. A celebration of her life is being conducted at Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City, Ohio (www.ginghamsburg.org) on Saturday, March 9. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with a brief service at 11:00. Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, James and her four children, daughters Jaylyn (Eric Savela), Lauren (Josh Hooper), sons Adam and Tony and two grandchildren Lucas and Mariella, her parents LaMont and Ruth Hughes, brother Jeff, sister Gayle and her husband, Robby. She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Dominic and Coletta Petrofes, along with Jamie's six brothers and sisters and their spouses. Cindy leaves numerous beloved family members including nieces and nephews, Cheryl (John) Stallard, Cliff (Krista) Turner, Cami (Will) Jacobs, Tess and Blair McNamara, Abby and Patrick Harris, and Nathan Petrofes, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Cindy enjoyed taking photos of her family and especially of her new grandchildren. Cindy graduated from Northmont High School in 1981, and leaves many friends that will miss her special smile and warm and caring heart. Her two friends since childhood, Sherri (Post) Fischer and Ronda Mosley, will miss her deeply. Her work family from the Miami County Juvenile Court System and the numerous children and families that she touched will miss Cindy, as well. Everyone remembers Cindy's great love for animals of all types and her tireless efforts to find homes for neglected and abused animals. Her five dogs and two cats were a true joy to her. Cindy also enjoyed the out of doors and spent free moments living in the splendor of the natural world. Cindy loved everyone and was a friend to anyone who needed a friend.
