Carol Sue "Suz" "Susie" (Weaver) Cook, 83, of Tipp City, Ohio passed away 23 minutes into the new year of 2025. Born on 28 July 1941, in Northridge of Dayton, Ohio to Paul Arthur and Edna May (Hamilton) Weaver. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Betty (Weaver) Yoshida and William "Bill" Weaver. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David R. Cook, as well as her two children Dianne Lytle and Chad D. (Stephanie) Cook; four grandchildren Jessica Lytle, Matthew Lytle, Ethan Cook and Samantha Cook; four great grandchildren Allison Kinzig, Abigail Nickels, Kaleb Lytle and Emma Lytle; sister-in-law Sandy Weaver, many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Carol graduated in 1959 from Tippecanoe High School and married her high school sweetheart, David, at Zion Lutheran Church the next year. Beyond a loving wife, mother and grandma, Carol was very devoted to her community serving as President of: Tipp City Jayceettes, Civic Women's Club, Community Minded Women and Tipp-Monroe Historical Society. Carol was elected on City Council and was selected to serve as Mayor for 6 years, becoming the first woman to hold this position. In 2001, the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce honored Carol by naming her Citizen of the Year. Carol loved genealogy, dolls, antiques, sewing, bowling, playing cards, fishing and everything Christmas.
Visitation will be held 4:00 – 6:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Funeral will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Following the burial a Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 14 W. Walnut St., Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Tipp City Foundation: Tippecanoe Historical Society Fund P.O. Box 626 Tipp City, OH 45371.
