Obituary

Badgley, Carol Jean {Cassel} passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 after a brief illness. Surrounding her bedside were her loving husband and children.

Born December 20, 1930 to Dr. Homer Deeter Cassel and Opal Marie (Gilbert) Cassel. She is preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Alfreda (Ryder) Cassel, sister, Mary Ellen (Cassel) Case and brother Dr. William Gilbert Cassel.

She is survived by husband of 65 years, Douglas C. Badgley, children; Jeffrey D. (Ulrike) Badgley, Michael C. Badgley (FiancAC. Deborah Hempel), Sally Ann (Steve) Watson and Julie (Craig)Kasper as well as grandchildren; Katy (Barclay) Wiggs, Megan (Andy) Crist, Marius & Marco Buesken, Carly, Emily & Jackson Badgley, Tori Hempel, Andrew Tate, Sarah (Steve) Gustavson , Tyler (Abby) Watson , Liberty Watson, Katy (Jay)Cullis, Molly (Mike) Suber, Benjamin, Jacob & Alexandra Kasper and great grandchildren; Elijah & Ellison Wiggs, Skye Badgley, Max, Kaitlyn & Olivia Gustavson, Jackson Tate, Opal Cullis, Alli & Emma Suber.

Carol was a graduate of Fairview High School Dayton Ohio and Otterbein University in Westerville Ohio where she met the love of her life Douglas C. Badgley of Cincinnati Ohio. The two married in 1951 and raised four children in their homes in Vandalia and Tipp City Ohio.

Once their children were grown they traveled the world together with long- time friends, visited their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, while they resided in Naples Florida.

They regularly attended their home church Congregation Community Church in Naples, FL and while visiting in Ohio they attended the Living Word Church in Vandalia and Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City. Carol was loved by all.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday May 24th at the Living Word Church, 926 E. National Rd., Vandalia, OH. Visitation will start at 11:00am until time of service at 1:00 pm.

Following the service friends and family are welcome to visit the Gathering room at the Hotel Gallery, 109 E. Main St. Tipp City, OH for food and refreshments. In lieu of flowers please make donations in loving memory of Carol to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371.
