Betty Lou Wahl

Betty L. Wahl, 95, of Tipp City passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026.

Born on January 7, 1931, to Omar and Edith (Long) Schultz, Betty was raised on a farm in Circle Hill with her sister Marjorie and brother Bill, all who predeceased her. After graduating Newton High School in 1949, Betty married Richard (“Dick”) Wahl on September 1, 1950, and together raised daughter Connie Short and son Bob Wahl.

Betty is survived by her daughter Connie Short, her daughter-in law Jackie Wahl, her granddaughters Annie (Ted) Caudill and Katie Wahl, her grandson Bob (Angela) French, her great-grandchildren Julia Caudill, Hunter (Trista) Caudill, Andrew Short, Emily (Kyle) O’Connell, Kelsey (Zach) Wolfe and Kaylee (Hunter) Marshall, seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and siblings, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her son, and her son-in-law Darrell Short.

Betty and her family spent many years enjoying camping throughout Michigan before purchasing property on North Lake in Coldwater, Michigan and later at Lake Loramie. Betty could create absolutely anything from nearly any medium. She knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched, carved, and painted, just to name a few. Her favorite hobby was puzzling, and her family tried to find the most challenging puzzle each year for Christmas. More than anything, Betty delighted in her family and was most happy when they were all together.

The family is grateful to Angie, Dana, JJ and the rest of the staff at StoryPoint Tipp City and Vonnie, Angie, Jen, and Pam from Ohio’s Hospice for all the care and support they have provided, especially in the last few days.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main Street, Tipp City, Ohio 45371, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
