Barbara A. Helm

Barbara Ann Helm, born January 26, 1942 to the late John & Helen Riffell, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2026. She was married to a wonderful, caring man Robert Helm for 49 years who lovingly took care of her until her final words that Thursday afternoon.

Barbara loved watching her Gospel TV shows, listening to worship music, reading, going out for family dinners, and especially seeing every possible sporting event any of her grand-kids and even great grandson played. Even when having to be helped in and out of events and not feeling her best, she would be saying, “we are going to the game”.

Barbara had three daughters whom she was also very proud of; the late Teresa Ann Carney which she was devastated to lose in June of 2021, grand-kids Dustin and Oakley Brewer, great grand-kids Elliott, Addie & Ruby, second daughter Pamela and her husband Patrick Hale, grand-kids Ryan (Hannah) Hale, and Mia (Mackenzie) Hale. Youngest daughter Melissa and husband William Roberts, grand-kids Justin Roberts great grandson Caden Roberts, Brandon (Caitlin) Roberts, and Caleb Roberts of which lovingly became like Caleb’s second mom, and step son Danny (Candy) Helm.

Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents and siblings; Donald Riffell, John Riffell, and Virginia Pennington. Her sisters who are still living include Donna (Nevin) Elleman, Shirley Morrow, Janet (David) Bowers, Sandy Easterling and Annette (Greg) Miller. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Barbara will be deeply missed but we are comforted knowing she is probably singing in Heaven with Terri and cuddling with her pup Angel and restored to her full health and mind again.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Visitation will be 10:00-12:00 PM followed by service and burial at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
