Arestad, Arthur T., 93 of Tipp City passed away at his home. Born May 12, 1919 in Stavanger, Norway to Martin and Agathe {Mikalsen} Arestad. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife; Sara A. "Sally" Arestad. His is survived by his daughters; Kathryn A. and her husband Brady Skinner, Centerville, OH, and Marylin A. Lau, Mentor, OH, sisters; Esther Braun and Alma Doorenbusch and four grandchildren; Sara (Chris) Chubb, Chicago, IL, Sean Skinner, Colorado, Carson and Griffin Lau, Mentor, OH. Arthur was retired from DESC where he worked as an Electrical Engineer. He has served in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Life member of the American Radio Relay League and their Quarter Century Club, Dayton area. Arthur was an amateur radio operator since the age of 16 and until his death, he was still using Morse code to talk with ham radio operators around the world. He was also a charter member of the WWII War Memorial Society, Washington DC. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 4 to 6 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W.
