Martin, Arlin E. of Tipp City died peacefully at Kettering Hospital on May 2, 2016 at the age of 86. Born May 30, 1929 in Hazard, KY to Allen and Cassie {Smith} Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leroy and James and sisters, Maude, Juanita and Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rose Ann {Kleismit} Martin, his brother Kenneth Martin (Yvonne), Brookville, OH, sisters Mildred Stacy, Vandalia, OH, Christine (William) Patrick, Huntington, IN, daughters, Connie (Ron) Muzechuk, Dayton, OH, Gwen (Tom) Martin-Hoerr, Peoria, IL, Cindi (Steve) Pegg, Beavercreek, OH and Marianna Martin, Tipp City, OH. Also surviving are grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Merkle, Nathan (Sandra) Corron, Ryan Corron, Marissa Corron, Taylor Pegg, Brandon Pegg and Cameron Martin; one great granddaughter Violet Corron and many nieces and nephews. Arlin was a decorated Korean War Era Veteran. He retired from Duriron after 40 years of service as a product designer with many patents to his name. He enjoyed gardening, was an active and dedicated member of the Inventor's Club, and a Fox News enthusiast. He was one of the earliest recipients to receive a mechanical heart valve at the age of 35. Arlin was the kindest and most gentle soul you could ever meet. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, OH; Celebrant, Father R. Marc Sherlock. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church and one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Dayton Heart Association, 1313 W. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH 45409 in loving memory of Arlin. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
