Van Malsen, Arlene J. age 89 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully January 1, 2024 at Randall Residence. She was born September 4, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to William and Jacoba Waalkes. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 70 years; Roger Van Malsen, four brothers; Bert, Pete, Bill and John and three sisters; Jacoba, Jackie and Beulah. She is survived by her children; Lori (Perry) Souders and Sheri Holl, grandchildren; Kelli (Chuck) DeYoung, Stefanie Hawkins, Amy Patterson and Allie (Austin) Reynolds. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, two bonus great grandchildren, two very special granddaughters; Sky and Alana Asbury and a lot of loving nieces and nephews.

Arlene graduated from Lee High School in 1951. She was a telephone operator and a housewife. She was a lifetime Auxiliary member at the VFW Post 9582 in Vandalia.

Arlene's wishes were that her body be donated to The Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University School of Medicine. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM February 25, 2024 at Vandalia VFW Post 9582, 4170 Old Springfield Rd., Vandalia, Ohio.
