Allan Arthur Cook, 94, of Tipp City, Ohio died peacefully on Saturday, February 20 at the Springmeade Health Center. He was born on June 30, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio.
Allan served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Roberts Cook (1925-1995), whom he married in 1945. His professional life as a CPA and financial executive led him to Canada, with extended work assignments including relocation with his family to Argentina, Guyana and Jamaica. He retired with Marjorie to Tipp City in 1985, to be near family.
Allan enjoyed opera, British comedy, classic American movie comedy (a la WC Fields and Mae West), Saturday Night Live, and his many dogs over the years.
He is survived by his two sons (Douglas Cook and wife Constance Hatch Cook of New Bern, North Carolina, and Russell Cook of New York City); three grandchildren (Tara Erlemann and husband Jason of Navarre, Florida, Joie Ruehr of Trent Woods, North Carolina, and Dawna Fackrell of Navarre, Florida); four great-grandsons (Jacob and Joshua Erlemann and Davis and Aidan Ruehr); and Arlie Lester who was his very close friend during his later years.
He will be interred next to his beloved wife in Grand Marais, Minnesota at a date to be determined.
A memorial service for Allan will be held at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371 on Wednesday, February 24 at 7pm. Visitation is from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday.
