IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred "Fred”
Pelletier
June 17, 1941 – June 29, 2025
Pelletier, Alfred "Fred" age 84 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio He was born June 17, 1941 in Nashua, New Hampshire to Alfred and Marie {Dionne} Pelletier. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Wallace. Fred is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years Barbara {Giganic} Pelletier, children Laura (Timothy) Jones of Illinois and Marc (Dena) Pelletier of Minster, Ohio. Also surviving are grandchildren Christopher and Matthew Jones, Maxwell Alfred (Alice) Pelletier, Lillian Marie, Gabrielle Rose and Miriam Elisabeth Pelletier.
Fred was an avid reader and talented wood carver. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at the Troy Country Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 586, Tipp City. Being too large, to say it politely, to be a Detroit Fireman, Fred's brother-in-law introduced Fred to Electrical line work. He later became a Journeyman linemen and a member of IBEW Local Union 17 in Detroit, Michigan. This would fit Fred perfectly, with broad shoulders, massive arms and a barrel chest he found very familiar friends in an industry that would take him and his wife all over country with great adventures. Becoming the director of the American Line Builder Apprenticeship Training Program (ALBAT), Fred worked for 30 years training young men who would go on to build the nations electrical infrastructure. Giving back to an industry that gave him great success is one of his great legacies and continues today because his son and grandson follow in his footsteps.
