Walter E. Caton

Caton, Walter E. “Walt” age 94 of Tipp City, OH passed away at his home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 to be reunited with his loving wife of 65 years, Anna, who passed in December of last year. Walter was born January 6, 1927 in Dayton, OH; the third son to Walter A. and Carrie E. {Luckett} Caton.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers; Bill and Raymond Caton.  Walt is survived by his nephew; Raymond Caton, Tennessee, and great niece; Terri Hailey, Dayton, OH, life-time friend; nephew in law; Jim Morrow, West Chester, OH,  Helen Fulkner, Cincinnati, OH, friends; Ed & Nancy Yahne, Tipp City.  He was grateful for his care provided by Golden Heart Caretakers and the support of Ohio’s Hospice as well at the friendship of his neighbors; Rick & Teresa Kinnison and moral support by neighbor, Jackie Gay.

Walt enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1946 at age 19 and was rank; Private First Class, First Infantry Battalion, First Special Marine Brigade, Mb, Quantico, Virginia.  He was employed by Aero Products, Dayton, OH as a draftsman from 1947 through the 1950’s and by 1960 had joined National Cash Register Company in Dayton as a Project Designer.

He married Anna Bea Bryson in June 1955 and lived in Dayton until moving to Tipp City in the 1960’s.  They attended Tipp City United Methodist Church.  Walt enjoyed jogging, going to the YMCA daily, riding his bike from one side of the state to the next and was an enthusiastic fan of horse racing. He enjoyed watching the neighborhood kids play sports and he loved his dog; Barney who went everywhere with him.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, OH 45371.
