TCFD Chief Stephen Christopher Kessler

March 7, 1945 ~ June 9, 2018 (age 73)

Kessler, Stephen Christopher age 73 of Tipp City passed away on Saturday June 9, 2018.  Born March 7, 1945 in Troy, Ohio to the late Robert E. and Lois {Hoffman} Kessler.  He is survived by his sister, Abby {Kessler} Bowling, niece, Amy and her husband Drew Hackenberger, great niece, Ally Hackenberger and great nephew, Kessler Hackenberger.

Steve was a 1963 graduate of Tippecanoe High School and a 1968 graduate of Otterbein College.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  Steve retired from Tip Top Canning Company where he had worked for 38 years.  He was a member of the Tipp City Fire Department for 50 years, serving as Chief for the last 20 years, devoting many hours to the department and to the community.  Steve was also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Tipp City, Montgomery County Chief’s Association and the Miami County Chief’s Association; serving as treasurer.

A gathering of friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Monroe Township Building, 4 E. Main St., Tipp City, OH.  Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371
