Mary Ellen Durst

Durst, Mary Ellen age 86 of Bethel Township, Tipp City, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home.  Born September 26, 1931 in Troy, Ohio to the late Charles and Minnie Blanch {Hanesford} Chaney.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel W. Durst in 2004, son, William Dean “Pork” Durst in 2001, sister in-law, June Shellabarger, nephew, Jerry Parise and 15 brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her children, Daniel L. “Fonz” Durst, Tipp City, Ohio, Vickie L. Knops (Paul Morency), Troy, Ohio, Rose M. Durst (Steve “Otis” Hawthorne), Troy, Ohio, sister, Sarah “Aunt Kay” Scherer, brother in-law and sister in-law,  Don (Dot) Durst, life-long friends, Virginia and Slim Boomerhsine, grandchildren; Shannon Knops, Heather (Allen) Zacharias, Lisa (Russ) Jones, Seth (Marla) Gilley, Levi Durst, Nick Durst, Jason Pittman (Jessica) and Jessi Rich, great grandchildren: Gemma Durst and Wesley Jones and her “kids”; Kim Gilley, Joe “Josey” Hipshire, Chuck Spirk, Lester “Henry” Seibert, Jerine Pittman, Janis Shellabarger, Paul Rich and too many more to mention.

Mary Ellen was a resident of Bethel Township since 1954.  She enjoyed flowers, loved her family and her grand pups; Mya (The Princess), Zoe, Buck, Darcie and Marcie.

Funeral service 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371; Minister Edward “Mike” Peters officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.  Visitation 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.  Donations may be made in loving memory of Mary Ellen to Heartland Hospice or to American Lung Association.
