Jack A. Baird

Baird, Jack A. 79 of Troy, OH passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 of esophageal cancer.  Born on February 11, 1939 in Louisville, KY to Jack and Sarah (Kolb) Baird, who preceded him in death.  Also preceding him in death is his wife, Joan (Ulrey) Baird in 2011.  Jack is survived by his twin sister, Gene Anne Potter, Edmund, WA, sons, Jason Baird, Tipp City, OH and Jeremy and his wife Cindy Baird, Myrtle Beach, SC, four grandchildren; Cole, Carson, Chloe and Jackson.

Jack was educated at Eastern High School (1957), The Citadel, Kentucky Wesleyan College (BA) and Methodist Theological School in Ohio.  He was an ordained Methodist minister (1961) who served in various capacities at Marion, Brice, Perry, and Tipp City United Methodist Churches.

He was employed at the Miami County Community Action Council (CAC)/Miami Metropolitan Housing Authority (MMHA) in 1970 to help the boards, the staff and officials develop human service programs in Miami County.  Among these are: youth programs, elderly programs, head start, utility programs, housing programs, rural transit services, job training and employment services and the Human Services Directory.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, OH 45371; Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating.  Visitation 10:00 AM until time of service at Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation be made in loving memory of Jack to either Hospice of Miami County or the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be expressed to www.fringsandbayliff.com
